Network Rail's Thameslink Programme is transforming the capacity and performance of the north-south rail network through London. Just before Christmas 2011, at the 12th December timetable change, in the culmination of 3.5 years of intense activity, Network Rail delivered on time and to budget the infrastructure capability for 12 carriage trains to be operated on the Thameslink route for the first time.
